ABOUT

MISSION AND VISION
Mamatoto Village is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, devoted to creating career pathways for Women of Color in the field of Maternal Health; and empowering women with the necessary tools to make the most informed decisions and choices in their maternity care, their parenting, and their lives. The mission is twofold: to provide affordable and complementary maternity support services to women and their families during pregnancy through the first six months of the child's life, and to facilitate the increase of qualified women of color serving in the Maternal Health profession. By promoting health equity, we aim to foster healthy individuals, healthy families and healthy communities.

THE VISION

By offering creative solutions to combating health disparities for moms, babies and their families, Mamatoto Village's innovative approach increases awareness, enhances the woman’s power, and encourages the family to adopt healthy lifestyles that promote community transformation. We believe that the right to health and self-preservation according to one’s own will is a basic human right; therefore, if women, due to socioeconomic status and/or ethnicity lack access to the information and tools they need to preserve their lives, the lives of their children, and long term interests, then it is considered a violation of their rights as humans. Mamatoto Village is dedicated to acting for this cause in the best capacity possible. Additionally, we believe that women can be strengthen by other women from their own communities to give rise to a more cohesive and supportive environment for childrearing and family wellness.
