Village Birth Co-op offers complimentary and low-cost birth services via Mamatoto Village's Community Birthworker Program. Women from various communities are trained to provide birth and postpartum doula support, childbirth education, and breastfeeding peer counseling to teen mothers and lower income women and their families. The Community Birthworkers serve to bridge the gap in health disparities within the urban core, while aiding women in navigating the maternal health system, and gaining access to social support services.
